Apparently construction of an apartheid wall, a la Israel, is one Ukrainian Jewish oligarch’s answer to the “problem” of Russian arms finding their way into the hands of those resisting fascism in Eastern Ukraine.
Ihor Kolomoisky, Jewish billionaire and coup-appointed “governor” of Dnipropetrovsk, is calling for the construction of a wall along a 1,200-mile stretch of border that separates Ukraine from Russia (see story below).
Kolomoisky was mentioned in an article I posted back in early May written by Russian analyst Andrei Fursov. Here is what Fursov says about Kolomoisky:
The next corporate group is Privat. This is the most interesting one. It’s the group of Ihor Kolomoisky. Kolomoisky’s worth is 3 billion dollars. His partner is Gennady Bogolubov. Kolomoisky is a very interesting figure. Not only because he called our president a schizophrenic. He is the engine behind what is currently happening in Ukraine.
Born in 1963. Jewish. He very actively supports the Hasidic group Chabad, which is not a sect, it’s a movement. He’s the main sponsor of the Dnepropetrovsk Jewish community. An old friend of Berezovsky. He owns about 200 companies, controls 40% of Ukrnafta, the media. A big fan of soccer. He owns: FC Dnipro, of Dnepropetrovsk, Arsenal Kyiv, and Hapoel of Tel-Aviv. He’s the vice president of the Football Federation of Ukraine. Its president, Surkis, is a millionaire too, albeit not as big as Kolomoisky. He owns Dynamo Kyiv. Information frequently appears in the media about Kolomoisky’s connections with international organized crime. He really wanted to buy up the assets of Sevastopol. Indeed he was on the verge of buying. He is the sponsor of Yuschenko, Tymoshenko and Klitschko, and of, paradoxical though it is, the ultra-nationalist Tyaghnibok.
It might seem strange that Kolomoisky the Jew would support Tyaghnibok the ultra-nationalist. But the main goal of Tyaghnibok is to get Ukrainians and Russians fighting each other. His ultra-nationalism is not anti-semitic.
I have been saying for a while now that apartheid will eventually end up becoming Israel’s chief export to the world. What the Palestinians are suffering now is only a foretaste of what the rest of us are going to get if the Jewish state isn’t dismantled and a Palestinian state created in its place.
How to End the Conflict in Ukraine? Build a Wall in the East
KIEV — Ukraine’s leaders are puzzling over how to cut off Russian support for a separatist rebellion in the east of the country but one of its richest men thinks he has the answer.
Billionaire businessman Ihor Kolomoisky has suggested building a wall along the almost 1,200-mile land border with Russia to prevent fighters and weapons flooding in.
The idea may sound absurd but Kolomoisky has offered to stump up $136 million to fund the six-foot high, 10-12 inch thick wall of reinforced steel, complete with electronic alarms, trenches and minefields.
What’s more, it’s been done before. Israel has constructed a barrier to keep out Palestinian militants. China built the Great Wall to stop invaders. Soviet-led East Germany erected the Berlin Wall, though more to keep people in than out.
“We can take on this project from start to finish,” said Alexei Burik, deputy head of the Dnipropetrovsk region where Kolomoisky is the governor, offering to lead construction work.
President Petro Poroshenko may or may not be about to build such a wall but the growing discussion of the oligarch’s idea highlights deep security concerns in Ukraine, three months after Russia annexed the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea.
The Russian invasion of east Ukraine expected by many Ukrainians has not come. But in several weeks of fighting, pro-Russian separatists have seized a number of border posts, enabling them to bring in weapons and other supplies.
Securing the long and winding, and notoriously porous, border has become Poroshenko’s most pressing problem as he tries to put down the rebellion and hold Ukraine together.
Fighting near the border has been among the fiercest of the conflict and 30 servicemen were wounded overnight in new clashes in Luhansk, a border guard command center.
