Must-See Video: Russian Orchestra Performs in Palmyra Ruins

“Pray for Palmyra”

Renowned Russian conductor Valery Gergiev leads a concert in the ancient Syrian city of Palmyra to support the restoration of the UNESCO World Heritage site and to honor victims of the war. The city of Palmyra was devastated by Islamic State terrorists who occupied the site for some 10 months before it was liberated by Syrian troops with Russian air support. The concert is by the St. Petersburg Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra.

The video below was streamed earlier today. Upon initial appearance it may look as if it’s been removed, but try clicking it anyway. It does seem to be working as I am about to publish this post.

  1. compare russia’s orchestra to amurderka’s orchestra of bombs, hammers
high art vs the barking barbarian

  2. Outstanding! Thank you — this should be global-reported news! (I was able to view the video with no problem, and in fact am awed by the technology displayed via the large-screen appearance of and remarks by President Putin, etc.!) I haven’t had time to watch the entire hour but desire to do so. I’m very interested in the diverse mix of beautiful ladies (among them head-uncovered), soldiers of different uniforms, (I think I saw) clerics in Christian Orthodox garb, etc.; and the beautiful, sun-drenched weather and appearance of relaxation…peace. As I complete this comment, the music is about to commence with the violin solo….

Viva Syria!!! and good on Russia!!!

  3. MUSIC HELPS TO HEAL THE SUFFERING OF THE DEPARTED VICTIMS AND HEROES OF THE LIBERATED AND LIBERATORS RELATIVES OF BOTH HISTORICAL PALMYRA OF THE PAST AND PALMYRA OF THE FUTURE.
