Breaking: Two Days Before the Election, Comey Back-Flips Again

FBI Director James Comey has announced that the emails found on Huma Abedin’s laptop have turned up nothing that would warrant bringing charges against Hillary Clinton. It is a complete reversal from his previous announcement and is a development that has made Republicans angry and Democrats jubilant.

On October 28, Comey, in what some media referred to as a “bombshell,” informed Congress he intended to reopen the Clinton investigation on the basis of material found on the laptop of Abedin and her estranged husband, Anthony Weiner–reportedly approximately 650,000 emails.

Obviously nobody was expecting a conclusion of the investigation this soon. Did Comey and his staff manage to read through all 650,00 messages in just 9 days? Worth keeping in mind is that the FBI director took a lot of criticism for his announcement on Oct. 28–from the Clinton campaign, the attorney general, and even Obama.

Maybe it’s time Vladimir Putin revisits the question of whether or not America is a banana republic.

  1. Ah, yes, my old poem, “As America Falls.” So flattered that you remembered it, Siljan!! I guess it seems more apropos today even than when I wrote it a couple of years ago:

    Corrupt and dying empire—
In which rewards come to the most
Wicked, while the saintly are locked
    Up in solitary confinement,
    Midnight madness of an empire
    Dying of asphyxiation—
One 20% off sale too many,
    One AIPAC whore in Congress
    Too many.
An empire not of extraordinary humanity
    But of extraordinary human rendition,
    Where the kleptocrats
    Pilfered the skin off skeletons;
    An empire whose bomb strikes
Do not kill but, curiously, set in
    Motion the dancing of severed limbs;
An empire lost to its ideals,
    Whatever those were.

    An empire smitten
    With self-adoration—

    One pledge of allegiance,
One singing of the National Anthem
    Too many; one irradiated
    Chicken McNugget, one obese,
    Pinky-ringed televangelist
    Preacher defending Israel and
    Waddling about the Holy Land
    With his wife too many—passing
    The collection plate in church
    And breathing vapidity
    From the pulpit at drowsy,
    Day dreaming congregants;
    One collateralized debt obligation,
    One Wall Street investment bank,
    One worse-than-Hitler
    Terrorist demon lurking
    Under the bed too many.
    Too many,

    An empire…
    An empire…

    I do not see,
    I do not hear,
    I do not speak
    As the flames sprout from
    The horned animal’s head,
    It’s closed jaw snapped open;
    An equatorial dead zone
Which used to have its own
    Constitution until the case
    Where the document was kept
    Was broken into and the
    Parchment eaten by vultures.
    Empire!!!!!!!
    Where the Christians became
    As the bull constantly confused
By the waving of the red cape
Of the Zionist matador—and we know
What happens to the bull in the end…

    Hollywood surprise ending:
    He gores the matador.

  2. P.S. Not sure about the Denver Guardian. Some are saying today it’s a fake news site. If so, that would make it pretty much like everything else in America, all the way down to the fake, chemically-induced shine on the commercial apples you buy in the supermarket.

  3. SOLIDARTY OF THE CAMFORTABLE, RICH, POWERFUL, WARMONGERS, TOOK YEARS TO DESTROY WORKING CLASS SOLIDARITY, (“UNITED WE STAND DEVIDED WE FALL”),
IT IS A HISTORICAL FACT, THAT OVER AND OVER AGAIN THE 99%, CAN ONLY RESTORE TRUE DEMOCRACY THROUGH SOME SORT OF A REVOLUTION.
VOTING NOW WILL ONLY ENHANCE THE SAME POLITICAL STATUS QUO.
TOO MANY WEAK PROPONENTS FOR CHANGE WHEN HISTORICALY IN MOST CASES CHANGE WAS ONLY ACHIEVED THROUGH ONE SINGLE RESOLUTE MIND.

  4. Fake news site eh? Yes it is difficult to know what is real. Is Donald Trump fake or is he real?
I think we all remember “change we can believe in”. We all know how that turned out. Obama’s became GW on steroids. No matter who wins tomorrow, I’m afraid we will see an America more divided than ever. And with an unstable Hillary?!! God help us all.

  5. Yeah, I’ve had my doubts about Trump too. And you’re right about Obama–he was even worse than Bush. Hillary will probably be worse than Obama. Trump, on the other hand, is kind of an unknown quantity.

  6. “If voting changed anything they’d make it illegal”–kind of an old saying here. A lot of people think it’s true. That’s probably why the voter turnout in US elections is traditionally so low. Not sure what tomorrow’s going to bring. Maybe the results will surprise us.

  7. have faith
only good can generate such hate

    if prez trump
    talks to russia
    he is worth every vote
bonus: kills the secret trade agreements

i will stay with my: trump 65% or better: witch 28% at best

    passed a few voting locations
    many trump signs
    zero for hag
    4 for gary johnson

  8. Your comment just made me think–I haven’t seen any political signs or bumper stickers in my area for any of the presidential candidates. Lots of signs up everywhere for local candidates, but nobody seems to be supporting the presidential candidates. I think that’s another first.

  9. A lot of Brits have a kind of symbiotic feelings for the American situation, anti globalisation anti the elites and want a End to mid east adventurism and the carnage it has caused…viva America!!
