[Ed. note – According to a report published at The Duran, the person who passed the Clinton emails to Wikileaks is former British diplomat Craig Murray. Their article is based on a report at the Daily Mail, whose source is Murray himself–although Murray has not as yet posted anything confirming the matter at his own website, something The Duran makes note of, although they do give credence to the Mail’s reporting on the story.
All this comes as Hillary Clinton has added her own voice to the numerous claims that Vladimir Putin himself ordered the alleged hacks against the DNC–and according to Clinton, the motive was personal:
“We have to recognize that, as the latest reports made clear, Vladimir Putin himself directed the covert cyber attacks against our electoral system, against our democracy, apparently because he has a personal beef against me,” she said.
Whether Clinton is suffering from paranoid delusions I’m not in a position to say, but you can go here and read a commentary posted by Murray at his site–and while he omits any mention of the Daily Mail report, he does address the accusations of Russian hacking in general, offering up the view that, “Frankly nobody in what is vaguely their right mind would believe this narrative.” ]
In a shock interview with the Daily Mail former British ambassador Craig Murray says that he was given the DNC and Podesta leaks in a clandestine meeting in Washington DC, and it was through him that they were passed on to WikiLeaks.
Here is how the Daily Mail is reporting what Craig Murray told them
‘….Murray insisted that the DNC and Podesta emails published by WikiLeaks did not come from the Russians, and were given to the whistleblowing group by Americans who had authorised access to the information.
‘Neither of the leaks came from the Russians,’ Murray said. ‘The source had legal access to the information. The documents came from inside leaks not hacks.
He said the leakers were motivated by ‘disgust at the corruption of the Clinton Foundation and the tilting of the primary election playing field against Bernie Sanders.’
Murray said he retrieved the package from a source during a clandestine meeting in a wooded area near American University, in northwest D.C. He said the individual he met with was not the original person who obtained the information but an intermediary.’
Craig Murray has not commented on this interview on his own blog, but there is no reason to doubt the Daily Mail is reporting his comments accurately.
As I have said previously, Craig Murray is a person of great integrity. I have no reason to doubt that this account is true.
In light of this information, there is no reason to place any further credence on the absurdly farfetched Clinton-CIA claim that Russia was behind the DNC and Podesta leaks. Quite clearly that claim is untrue.
