This video actually reveals a great deal about attitudes held by Americans towards their own government. In it, we see an actor dressed up like North Korean leader Kim Jong-un go strolling through the streets of New York. Kim, who not so long ago called Trump a “dotard,” is the one world leader who, more so than any other, has defied the US. He has given the middle finger, not only to Trump, but also to the Deep State currently running the country into the ground and turning it into a surveillance police state. That a man so despised by the media and the political elites would receive such a warm welcome from average citizens speaks volumes about where we’re at right now.
Also it’s interesting to note the different receptions “Kim” receives depending upon which neighborhood he’s in. The people of Harlem seem to welcome him almost as a liberator. The only place he gets a noticeably cool reception is Wall Street.
Here is a bit from the video description:
I decided to see how New Yorkers would react to seeing Kim Jong Un walking around. We walked through 3 neighborhoods: Harlem, Wall Street, and Koreatown. New York definitely took notice. To be honest, I was quite nervous to see how New York would react to this Kim Jong-Un social experiment. I was surprised as to the positive reception he received. There was a lot of comedy, a little bit of catcalling and only a tiny bit of street harassment. In a strange way, it gives me hope that differences can be resolved between all the countries and that we can find a way to co-exist as well as find a way to help the people of North Korea.
The US government, of course, has no intention of “co-existing” peacefully with North Korea or any other country which charts an independent course, and the video’s real worth, as I say, is far more in terms of what it tells us about ourselves as Americans, the current state of our country, and the sense of hopelessness we’re all feeling.
