Bassem Tamimi, Ahed’s Father, Interviewed on US Television Station

Bassem Tamimi is the father of Ahed Tamimi, the 17-year-old Palestinian girl who remains jailed in Israel for slapping a soldier. He recently made what apparently is his first appearance on US TV.

In a segment that aired yesterday, Bassem was interviewed on WHUT, a public television station in the Washington D.C. area. The station is owned by Howard University, an historically African-American university.

In addition to discussing the Ahed Tamimi case, the program also addresses the issue of Israeli discrimination against African asylum seekers…
