[ Ed. note – Marine Le Pen, who wants to steer France out of the EU, and Emmanuel Macron, the pro-EU candidate, will face off against each other in the May 7 runoff election in France.
One wonders if the German people will ever tire of paying “reparations” to Israel. They have been doing so for the past 65 years–ever since the signing of the Luxembourg Agreement in 1952–and at the rate things are going, it looks like they will go on making absolution for eternity, long after the last “holocaust survivor” has kicked the bucket.
[ Ed. note – Another EU official has dared open his mouth and criticize Israel. I wonder how much longer he will have a job. They generally don’t seem to last too long. ]
The European Union (EU) has lashed out at Israel for pursuing the policy of demolishing and confiscating Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank, calling on the Tel Aviv regime to end its practice.
[ Ed. note – The English translation of this article is a little rough, but still readable. Basically what we have here is the latest US chess move against Russia. If the State Department succeeds in orchestrating the coup in Cyprus which the author details, it could lure Turkey away from its present alignment with Russia and back into the US/NATO orbit. Given Erdogan’s previous escapades, my guess is he is easily corrupt enough to go along with it. The plan would set the stage for a permanent military occupation of Cyprus by Turkey, rendering the people of that island nation subjects of a newly-created “Frankenstein” totalitarian state overseen by foreign judges.
Of course, anybody who believes Victoria Nuland is gone for good come January 20 probably isn’t fully aware of the revolving door nature of US politics. ]
[Ed. note – The British newspaper The Independent (hat tip Blake) has published a report underscoring what we pretty much already knew: that Israel had engaged in heavy lobbying of Quartet members in order to water down the report just issued. Here are a few key quotes from the story:
[ Ed. note – This woman feels her life is being destroyed, but obviously hasn’t a clue who is responsible for it. ]
Britain is divided post brexit. The main cities voted to remain and the other areas in England & Wales to leave. The disconnect between our political representatives and the people has never been greater. Scotland voted to stay in the EU and is now pushing for another independence vote. The Pro EU campaigners are now bereft. Despite being a rare example of direct democracy in action they have since the result tried to undermine it’s validity and call for another referendum or for the result to be ignored. This will not happen, the people have spoken , the Queen accepted David Cameron’s resignation, possibly even suggested it.
Lo and behold just three days after the release of the Quartet report, Israel took the opportunity to announce the construction of 800 new settlement units in East Jerusalem and the West Bank.
